Indy Car, Champ Car, Formula 1...all of them would smoke a NASCAR. They are lighter, more aerodynamic, and have a better power to weight ratio.

Indycars can get up to 240 while NASCARS can only get up around 200 (with restrictor plate) without the can go faster but not as fast as indycars.

I am a NASCAR fan but i think indycars are a little faster and have better maneuverability.
But that doesn't mean better racing!

Indy automobiles are exciting and rapid, they simply are no longer as stable from a spectator attitude. they're extra exciting to force ( yet you relatively could be driving one ) yet they might't configure a race music to make it exciting. NASCAR is in keeping with extra "real international" American automobile industry type racing and is extra exciting to video demonstrate, simply by fact of all the passing and touch between the automobiles, on a music which will nicely be considered extra appropriate via the spectators. NASCAR has extra "bang for the greenback" than the different motorsport in the international.

Indycar no question. Just look at it lighter and more aerodynamic. Not even close.

Indy is much faster, but I like NASCAR better. Open wheel racers cannot bump each other like NASCAR's can.
Oh ... and restrictor plates are used in NASCAR to slow them down on faster tracks like Daytona. They restrict the airflow to the carburetor, giving them less horsepower.

I would say Indy is faster. Although I do watch it from time to time, I'm more interested in NASCAR.

indy cars weigh about half of what a cup car weighs.cup cars 3400lbs,indy cars about 1800lbs.
cup cars have about 700hp,where indy cars about 650.
the big differance is the weight and downforce ratio of the 2.also indy cars run bigger ties on the rear of the car.
the qualifying record at indy for a cup car is 186.293mph by casey mears, the indy car qualifying record is 237.498 mph by arie luyendyke.
i have been to both cup races and indy car races and i will tell u this, the indy cars are much faster
