4AM private call, whats the deal???

ok so i just got a new cell phone number a couple months ago so the only people that know my phone number are the 12 people in my phone book, I have a BF so I havent given my number out to any guys or nothing but last night at 4AM some girl called me PRIVATE while i was sleeping over at my BF's house. when i answered and said hello she was like "why do you keep calling my house private?" i just told her i dont know wat she is talking about and asked her how she got my phone number then if i was "calling her PRIVATE" she daid she got it off the internet somehow. is that possable? and how if i NEVER called her in the first place?

oh and i dont think my BF believes that i have no clue what that girl was talking about.....if there is a way to get the number of someone that calls you private let me know so i can get her number incase i need to have my BF call her and see for himself what is going on

There is a reason she is calling you, either your bf called her, one of the friend's in your phone book informed her of your number, it came from somewhere. There are ways to obtain private listed numbers, I am not sure how but I know it can be done but I doubt this is the case with this girl. She could have gotten your number from anywhere you wrote your number down at where people could possibly have access, doctor, friend, school, etc. Keep that in mind. If this person who called you knows your private info, she could have simply called the phone company and gotten it that way. If I were you and I recieved these type of calls, I would ignore them. That is the best thing to do, then the caller cannot get a reaction out of you, and they don't feel like calling so much because nothing will happen for them when they do. If she leaves messages then you can call the police on her for harassment.

u set a number to private by callin *69 then number to undo this u do *67 then number and it should be right after she calls or u could get a block on ur phone so that people cant calll u on private

You are making too much of this. I think it was probably a wrong number. You'll know for sure if she never calls back. Someone else probably had your number before you did. It happens all the time.

i suggest it was a wrong number and she had you confused with someone else --- private numbers are blocked not even the operators can see them so you wont pick them up from the internet (unless you are a VERY good hacker)

maybe she mis dialed the true # and got you by mistake? At 3 in the morning, anything is possible, and maybe she was drunk.
