I am a little suspicous of my wife. I love her with all of my heart but I just have a gut feeling, even though I've had gut feelings that are wrong. She's pregnant and has told me that she is showing very big at only 4 mos. She told me today that she lost part of her mucous plug along with having braxton contractions. I am wonderinf if this is really too early? If so then it answer's a lot of my questions. I could be wrong I've been reading that some woman lost all or part of it but that is usually at 36 weeks of pregnancy. My wife and I got together mid September 2006. I am just really suspicious.

The only way you can find out for sure is to go with her to her appointments. If she doesn't want you to go then there is your answer. Havent you seen any ultrasound pictures. They usually say how many weeks you are on them. At least mine do. Woman always get pictures of them to show family so she cant use the excuse that they didnt give her any or couldnt get one. She should have some. If she dont...then you have even more reason to doubt. As for showing...everyone is different. I am only 2 months with my first and I am starting to show but then I am also 5' 10'' and 120lbs. Only the doctor can answer your questions on this one. But obviously something must be up if you are questioning this. Good luck.

Go with her to a u/s visit and see what they say the due date is. How many weeks is she? From Sept to now she would be about 5 1/2 months along, if she is losing her mucous plug this early it could cause an infection. She should see the doctor about that. Some women do show early and others do not show til the 7 to 8 mth. I would make sure you go to an u/s appt or a doctor appt and hear what they have to say. I am sure you love her, but reassurance that this is your baby would be very comforting at this point. I wish you luck.

No one loses a mucus plug at 4 months unless they are going to miscarry...I suggest that you go with her to her next doctor appt. How often is she going anyway? If she is going every week then you have your answer just by that...7th and 8th month every 2 weeks, last month every week. Go with her and ask the doc some questions. Also you will know whats up if she goes into labor soon and has a fully developed baby!!!!!!

And P.S. you might consider this judgemental, but if you guys just got together in Sept. and ur married already??? If it turns out she's faking you out with this pregnancy, you might want to take the time to know someone very well before you marry next time around...

The best thing for her to do is go to the doctor and let the doctor check to make sure the cervix is closed. Braxton hicks contractions are VERY normal. Also, pregnant women have alot of discharge sometimes and that's probably what she's confusing with a mucus plug.
Most women loose their mucus plug without even noticing it.
I've had 4 babies and have only seen one of my plugs.

It is too early if the baby is to live. She could be having pre term labor but it sounds more to me like she has been pregnant since about May. Perhaps it isn't yours??? I would go with her to a doctors appointment and see what the doctor says. Also... how often is she seeing a doctor? If it is every other week or every week she is in the third trimester and is more than 4 months along. Good luck

I would definitley get a paternity test if I were you! This is very suspicious. No one I've heard of shows at 4 months, loses the mucus plug unless it is a miscarry, or have braxton hicks until much later.

Get tricked into marriage, you think?

When she told you her mucous plug was falling out, was it shortly after sex? Semen could be mistaken for the mucous plug. Both are sticky and gooey substances. Also, some women lose parts of their mucous plug little at a time. It doesn't always come out in one big chunk.

I would just go to the doctor with her or wait and see, if she gives birth in the next couple weeks or month and the baby is perfectly healthy and weighs normal then I would have to say that she is not four months. You should let her know however that if she is 4 months that this is preterm labor and she needs to see a dr asap!

like you're suspicious that it's not your baby or what? have you not seen her lately? most women do not even show at 4 months. 20 weeks is way too early to deliver a baby and it would not survive if she gave birth now. sometimes women mistake regular discharge for their mucus plug. if she is really that concerned about it she needs to go see her doctor now.
