Yes. But every component must be food grade material. Tank, pipe, fittings, the pump, etc.

Pipes and fittings - obviously no galvanized parts. Must be stainless, or plastics designated "potable" i.e. some polyethylene pipes have "potable" printed on the outside.

There are pumps designed specifically for potable water - must be properly sealed, all food-grade materials, etc. A big maker is Shurflo.

If the tank is kept clean, and the water chlorination level is maintained, I don't see why not. It's entirely normal to drink water from a container while camping etc. The only risk of contamination would be if the storage tank is not sealed from the environment - it doesn't take long for bugs to find their way in if it isn't.

Sure, municipalities do it all the time. You may have noticed them around, especially the ones that are raised from the ground. But there are some requirements for these tanks, including approved materials and maintaining chlorination levels. Check with your local water district for the information you need to comply with.

yes you can pipe it all around your house , and from a tap you could fit a hose to go into the garden , also from the tap you could fill containers and take the water wherever you want !! hope this helps ??
