Hi Christine!!
You have to get rid of the odor. If your the carpet smells it, that tells her that is the place to go.
This is accomplished with an odor neutralizer, which is available in pet stores. (Do not use household cleaners as they contain ammonia and will attract him back to the same spot.) example: ATX's Odor Kill & Stain Remover .
When used properly it will completely eliminate these odors, discerned only by the dog, by neutralizing the scent. When areas previously used by the dog have been neutralized the incentive for using the same spot will be eliminated
Make a big deal of her doing it right. Let your voice sound all this pride and pleasure in she, when she pees of the carpet , say a sharp "NO!" and take she immediately outside. If she pees more out there, praise be heaped on she little head.

I'm taking a wild guess here - this is your first puppy, am I right? Then sweetie you have a lot of reading to do.... There are a million pet books out there and you need to get a really good one! Books tell you exactly what to do and while you're out getting this book go ahead and purchase a crate while you're there cuz you'll be needing one. Or you can always pull up the carpet.... :) Follow the book's instructions to the letter or you will simply go crazy!! At the top of this page go to the 'search for questions': and type in "how to house train your puppy" Good luck!
BTW - don't go an pee in her garden, not a good example :)

I use a solution of water and Biological washing powder (must be bio for the enzymes)
this is effective in removing both the stain and the smell.
Also I have recently purchased from that door to door cleaning book, Kleenezee, a tin of "Pet accident remover ". This sprays out a foam solution which says gets rid of smells so the animal does not try to go there again, I think its quite good and at around £5.99 a tin quite good value for money as it will last ages!
You have my sympathy!!

This can be a problem, I understand!! What I was told to use and swear by is this; blot up the urine with a dry paper towel, don't scrub, that only pushes the stain further into the carpet and padding. Next, make a mixture of one part white vinigar and 3 parts warm water. Pour this over the stain and blot until as dry as you can get it. The vinigar absorbs the urine and balances the pH though I don't believe it does much for the stain if it has had time to dry so act fast!!!

I can honestly say i have never had that problem with my dog Barney, everytime I wanna use the loo, I let him go out too. That way, he goes out often enough and doesnt have to worry about holding it all in, or where he's going to do the deed. You dont say whether or not you dry vacuumed the spot? if you just diluted the area then yes the smell will still be there. Maybe some dry foam cleaner, that you could hoover out, would have helped better.
When you dog does wee in the right place, make sure you give lots of fuss and love.

Try Nature's Miracle - widely available, not expensive, and it's an enzyme cleaner which means that your dog won't try to keep peeing there as it'll take the smell away, even for her.
And if you don't have a crate for your dog, get one. This is the best way to train your dog. Make it very clear to your dog about where to potty, and you'll be very happy that you took the time to do it!

A product called Nature's Miracle will get the odor out. You can probably find it at Petsmart or some place like that. As far as training your puppy, read up on it. If you do a search, you can find tons of info.

Card your a joker.
Keep her in a kennel with her food when you leave and go to bed, cause she wont pea in her kennel if her food is in there. Then when your able to take her out to the bathroom bring her on a leash where you want her to go, and let her do her stuff.
Until she gets the hang of it, you need to continue the steps.
About getting the smell out, there are products at dogs stores or target or walmart have um too, that are made to get animal pea stains out.

Is he peeing or marking? Marking can be a darker, more suitable smelling urine..which, if he's in common words doing it even as you're at artwork, sounds extra possibly. at the starting up, to sparkling it i have discovered those woolite pod issues (the hand-held spot carpet cleaners..you'll get them at Walmart, etc, for in common words $10) take the stain out of the carpet. next spray with a product like OzaFresh for you to be in a position of locate at your interior of reach puppy grant keep. in case you do not, blot with white vinegar. I f you may't crate your canines, create an section for him yet in a unique way..through blockading off a particular room like the kitchen for instance. this can develop into "his" area for once you're away. My canines used to mark when I left him because he develop into attempting to be the boss in my absence. Giving him his personal area positioned an end to it once he felt preserve in it. otherwise the quicker advice of a abdomen band will be an outstanding determination for you. sturdy luck

Yes, there are many products that remove the odor. One of them *O ODOR* is a good product.
When you catch her in the act, you are going to have to disturb her in the middle of her actions. Startle her by clapping your hands. DO NOT rub her nose in it! Then pick her up and take her immediately outside. When she relieves herself outside, praise her A LOT! This is not an overnight fix. It's going to take patience and consistency on your part. And whatever you do, DO NOT spank her. That will only make her distrust you.
There is nothing you can do **after the fact** except to clean it up.
