If you use it to download files which are copyrighted like songs movies it is illegal to do so but file sharing is not illegal. Therefore ur actions are to be judged not the software. Lime wrie as a software is completely legal

I was wondering this too and was told that Limewire contains viruses/spyware/trojans, etc. And hackers will try to use your DSL and so on. It is not illegal to have Limewire, but it is to share files w/out licenses. Everyone has it though!

You can't call it illegal but some (actually most) files that people share on it are illegal.
