Wedding Decorating can be easier if you just put some of your personal touch in it. I am recently married and had a difficult time figuring out what to do to the reception hall. The answer was easy, less is more. Spend the time decorating the tables where your guests typically spend most of their time. Worried its not enough? Add white wedding bells and use white tulle to make the hall more romantic. What colors are your wedding? Sometimes a splash of the colors here and there makes a huge impact. My wedding wedding was claret (burgandy) white and black. I already had a white hall so decorating was easy, just added few splashes of claret here and there. If your hall is also where your food service is use it to help the flow of decor and people. I cornered tables for buffet as well as centered the cake nearby where it wouldnt be in the way but could be seen by all.
I also found a lot of great tips at these websites.

Planning is the key to sucess in a wedding, keep everyone in your wedding party aware of what you are expecting, let them also pitch in ideas and help. A little team effort never hurt anyone.

Here is the best tip I can give you...
Its expensive but completly transforms the room!!! go to your local fabric store AS SOON as you have picked out your wedding colors and order as much fabric as you can in that color(s). Talk to the person who you're renting the hall from to see if you can go in the night before to decorate it. Simply start in the middle of the ceiling and drape it down to the walls, far enough down to create a tent-effect, but far enough up/over to not use up room or make people have to duck. I know that at my wedding the last thing I wanted was to have a bunch of off-white painted bricks as my background to my photos..So i got a bunch of fabric and did this. It was kinda expensive, sitting at around $150 dollars...but after that, everything just fell into place. I bought red satin and that was why it was expensive. I then went to the dollar store and bought a bunch of red glitter, red matrigras beads, and a bunch of those red glass-pebles. I used the glass pebles in and around glass vases, and popped 2 red and 1 white candle into it..which served as center peices. I also went to Lowes and got a bunch of christmas lights on sale...which created an amazing atmosphere. Everyone loved the effect, and it looked like something you see in those wedding shows, the ones that cost thousands of dollars...all of it just because of using the fabric to trasnform the room. I was so pleased with the result and I know that you would be too. Just remember to go to the fabric store as soon as you know your colors, because they will have to order in the fabric, and remember that you will need LOTS of it!
Congratulations, and I hope this helps!!

Hi im getting married this year and i have just decided on how to decorate the venu. I was going to do it myself and if you have got 2 different types of colours make is easy for you to decorate your venu i decided to go and book a company who does this type of stuff as it would be loads of hassel to sort it out yourself. So at the moment decide on you colour scheme and how you would like to see your venue. When we went to book the person/s doing my venu they have decided on a balloons in my colours of gold and ivory and they do various other bits and bobs, but you have to see the pictures to see how good it looks.
Its up to you want what type of budget you are on. I wanted a floral arange ment as the table centres but the lady at the venu said its pointless as they take up to much space bacause of all the cutlery and they do cost alot of money. Also i wanted chair covers but these would cost me around £300 quid and you dont even get to keep them. So it all depends on what you want. Im still going to get the favours and table confetti and stuff to make it look nice, but have a word with your venue. I no mmy venu adds there own little touch also.

between my caterer and my florist...they decorated for me. I did not go to my reception hall until after the wedding was over. We trusted them (we had been to weddings that they did before) and it looked great...

My wife got these flower holder things for our wedding. www.pewcones.com is where she got them from....they looked really nice. We tied them on the ends of the pews at the church and put flowers in them. Got a few comments from our guests on them too.

Use lots and lots of white Christmas lights. Wrap them around everything. It makes it really beautiful when the lights are down. You can even get the "icicle" kind and have them hanging down from the ceiling.

very own tale: i became right into a laid lower back bride who needed a good wedding ceremony yet needed to "relax" on the special day and not rigidity over info. I totally depended on issues to be completed and did no longer micromanage. i assumed i became into an wonderful bride. :D I stated what i needed, provide some information, and did no longer push the issue. This attitude labored nicely for some issues, no longer a lot for others. :) i did no longer have a marriage decorator, kin helped. when I arrived on the reception, issues weren't set up the superb option. in fact, there have been some issues set up downright incorrect. no longer something became into sufficient for persons to whisper approximately, yet there have been sufficient issues to make a bride dissatisfied. i'm no longer a bridezilla type (will we nonetheless use that 90s notice?) via any potential, yet I truthfully needed my travelers to have a large time and attend a large adventure. I won't bypass into info till you ask, yet have faith me, besides the incontrovertible fact that no-one died and that i've got been given over it, it became into no longer precisely what I expected. My wedding ceremony nonetheless became out relatively superb, yet I even have photos of flowerless vases as an occasion (lol!). My suggestion, on account which you relatively have a expert decorator, is to have faith her artwork. Ask for references, draw a plan-o-gram and flowchart, and write out any and all info. Have him/her study it and sign off. make specific they comprehend your ingenious and prescient. Then enable them to do it. in basic terms make certain to envision in on the beginning up, midsection, and end of the adorning to make certain that it relatively is appropriate. you do no longer might desire to stand around the full time and micromanage or do it your self. in fact, as long as your decorator has shown themselves to you, checking in on the top, with sufficient time to the superb option issues with minor tweaks could be high-quality. whilst it relatively is relatively "ok" to beautify your self, you would be so busy, drained, and under pressure that for many brides, it relatively is in basic terms no longer worth it. i think of my answer is a chuffed medium. :) in spite of the incontrovertible fact that, in case you relatively prefer to do it your self, and could lose sleep over it in case you do no longer, then your determination is somewhat obtrusive. regardless of works the superb option for you. stable success! P.S. photographs of what you like is superb. the two use magazine photos, drawings, or point/set up the form you may like the favours, and so on.

at night (or the hall is dark) the light from candles, lampions, and anything glowing other than conventional lamps is magical .
