My son has been eating fingerfoods for months and I give him the same things all week (ie: cheese pieces, whole wheat bread, ground meat, steamed veggies, french toast etc.). I need some ideas for pasta sauce that doesn't involve tomatoes. We tried alfredo but that would be boring for him all the time too.

And YES he still drinks formula

He really loves food, he's been eating the baby food since 4 mths, and recently started refusing anything pureed and wants to feed himself with his fingers.

Have you tried some pasta with butter melted on it and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese? My kids LOVE it. I love that you are giving your baby a chance to eat. I hate parents that figure formula is enough! Good mommy!!!

The basic white sauce should be good. It has butter and wheat in it with a little salt. Fine grate some cheddar cheese into it to make it a cheesy white sauce. Coat your pasta with it and children absolutely love it. I'm amazed that your 10 month old eats all the stuff that you've mentioned. Good baby! :-)

I would mix in a little jar baby food (squash or something similar) or your homemade puree with formula. Or mashed avocado is nice too, my daughter ate that quite often. I have also used banana and other fruit purees w/pasta. Unconventional I know, but my babies never seemed to mind!

stick to butter. you can sprinkle some parmesean cheese on top but don't go to crazy with sauces just yet. He's only 10 mos. so keep it simple

not sure if your baby would like it but you could try adding a little cornstarch to thicken up like chicken broth and put that over some noodles

You can puree anything as a sauce, carrots (good with curry), beets, green beans (good with garlic).

Hummus and guacamole are good with pita.
