Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://bitly.im/aL2pK
A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

When I was looking for a good trainer, I ended up emailing our local Agility Club for information and suggestions of trainers. The person I decided to take up classes with is an excellent trainer and only charges $50 for a 7 week class.
Look for an Agility Club (even if you aren't looking to do this, they will still be able to refer you to obedience trainers, as it's the first thing you have to learn with a dog before going on to Agility), Obedience Club, General Dog Training Club, or even a Boxer Club in your area and drop them an email requesting suggestions. They can sometimes refer you to trainers who you won't find in the yellow pages, so they don't have a higher cost to cover advertising, etc.. The trainers they will suggest will be people they have trained with themselves and trust.

I have two boxers... my male misbehaved alot more than my female did. He started settling down when he was about a year and a half old. We didn't use a trainer, but we used a lot of techniques from Caesar-the Dog Whisperer. you can google him and get a book off of amazon.com. It's great because you can keep going over what you need to do to reinforce good behavior. I can definately say that we've used his techniques and it has helped both of our boxers tremendously. They are still michevious and nosy-they are boxers!! But when they hit about a year to a year and a half old they will calm down ALOT. good luck!!!

The local chapter of the AKC will probably offer low cost training classes. Your dog doesn't have to have papers to use the services, either. Good luck.

Look into breed clubs many of them allow you to guest train for $5.an hour no matter what breed you own. Even if you are guest training the instructors are always helpful and willing to give info and advice on how to solve the problems you may have.

Many of the public school systems offer inexpensive classes thru their community education programs, also many cities. Try calling those.
