Would it be wrong to give up Lima beans for Lent if You don't practice Catholism?

Probably. I doubt you have a wicked lima bean habit. Why not give up Catholisim for lent? That would take care of the not practicing part for good, that's for sure.

Your supposed to give up something you like, so if you like Lima beans, that would be appropriate.

The purpose of Lent is to give up something that you really like (or even like doing) for 40 days. If you give up something you don't like, it defeats the purpose.

Why would it be wrong? Anyway, you don't have to give up anything other than meat on Fridays. You CAN give something up or do something positive but that's your personal decision. It's for spiritual growth. I might give up chocolate but I'm not sure I'm capable of that. Give up coffee? God forbid!!!!
