cold sores?

my daughter has cold sores on her mouth I bought some abreva yesterday but that seems not to help is there any thing else I could do to help here she's in pain

her lips are swollen and she happen 3 sores on her lips

I agree abreva is the best medicine, but it is aweful expensive. It works it just takes a little while. It is not an overnight cure. There is no cure for cold sores. Abreva takes about a week to get rid of them. I also use Campho-phenique and Carmex. They both also help. Good luck, I know they are painful, just try to keep her from thinking about it. It may be difficult but it works.

I REALLY wanted you to know that you can EASILY never have to deal with another horrible, awful, nasty cold-sore for the rest of your life!!

Cold sores generally clear up on their own without treatment. However, see your doctor if:
* You have a pre-existing health condition that has compromised your immune system
* The cold sores don't heal within one to two weeks on their own
* Symptoms are severe
* You have frequent recurrences of cold sores
* You experience irritation in your eyes

abbreva works best if you use it before the cold sore actually comes out. Once it comes out, its just a matter of time.

I use a mixture of tea tree oil and a carrier oil like almond oil, it is 1 part tea tree to carrier oil
