Just another fun question. My son started drawing faces just after Christmas at 2 years 7 months old. I was just curious when other children began to draw and what were their first masterpieces. Sadly, my son will only draw these faces (which have now sprouted a set of legs) on his Doodlepro and we have not been able to save them (I love digital cameras!)

My 1st son was about 2 years old and it was a car with a face that had arms with fingers for hair. Then my 2nd son was around the same age and his was just plain smiley faces with spiky hair or as my son says piky hair.

All depends on the child! My son was about 18 months when he started writing his name and drawing people. My daughter who is 4, started drawing recongnizable things last summer, at age 3!

They teach correct crayon and pencil holding skills in kindergarten (about age 5-6). My son had a hard time with this until he was 7. I had to buy him pencil grips and that seemed to do the trick. Good luck.

Good for him! My son was about 2 also and it was circles which later became faces. He's 3 now and they now have sharp scary teeth (the bad guys) and some have capes (the good guys). He's into acton figures. Get your son some some finger paints and maybe you can frame them. ah abstract art!

my son drew the same thing, faces and with legs and arms, so cute, I saved all the scraps of paper he drew on and put dates on the back. Buy him lots of fun paper and drawing supplies so you can have the memories.
