I know ya said "LADIES ONLY" but using cold water helps a lot. It cuts down on the razor burn and the red bumps. Women arent the only ones that do that... k? :-)

It's more of something you have to master...shaving your nether regions with a razor. I've been doing mine for a couple years now and only sometimes will I get razor burn.

Soaking in a hot bath for 10 minutes will help to soften the skin where you'll be shaving so it's easier for the razor to glide over the surface. Exfoliating works wonders because it sloughs away those dry bumps that become the little red razor burn bumps after shaving. You can use a salt and olive oil (2:1 parts), a sugar and honey (equal parts), or you can use a soft scrubby brush to exfoliate.

Instead of using shaving cream I use either Dove soap, it doesn't dry your skin out. Or I use a thick conditioner, any kind will do.

When it comes to actually shaving, first shave down, then from the sides, and when you shave up...do short and quick strokes. I find shaving in these directions workings good. And if you notice a razor bump, don't shave over it repeatedly.

This is more of a pain, but it has worked very well. A few days after shaving, if I notice any ingrown hairs I pluck them with tweezers. It hurts, yes, but once you get used to it....it's much like your eyebrows, first pluckings hurt, but over time the pain is more minimal.

OK, I had the same problem in my teens. Trying new things to get rid of the bumps. I don't like hair down below either and it was frustrating when the red bumps hurt and I got ingrown hairs. I am now using Bikini Zone. It is a cream or gel that you can get in the shaving section of any store. It works amazing! No red bumps, nor ingrown hairs. The only drawback is... it does burn for a minute when first applied. Good luck!

I recommend the Seiko Cleancut Shaver instead of a razor and shaving cream. Dry shaving with powder works so much better for removing pubic hair. It's so easy to cut yourself with a razor. Tend Skin lotion is great. Bikini Zone works well. Hydrocortisone cream is really good too. GIGI has great home waxing kits. You can buy all of these products at Amazon.com.

what i have learned is that instead of using shaving cream, use hair conditioner because what does hair conditioner do? it softens the hair, right? therefore making it easier to shave. also, only shave down there about once a week. this will help ease the red bumps, which are ingrown hairs, and don't do what that GUY stated. use warm water to open the pores, and after you are finished splash it with cool water to close them. this will make it so you have a closer shave. another thing you might want to try is using something like nair, or neet. i have used this and it seemed to lessen the red bumps. just make sure you don't leave it on for to long, or it will leave you with a nasty chemical burn down there.

Since you prefer to chave I suggest getting a product called
Coochy Shave - Extra Gentle Shaving Lotion For Private Areas. It stops the red bumps and helps the hair grow back a bit slower.

When you shave be sure to shave in the oposite direction then the hair grows (against the grain my mom used to say) ans be sure to rinse with cool to cold water. It closes up the pores and make you feel smoother.

Its great stuff! Good luck!

I used to use a razor and shaving cream, but it was always itchy, really prickly, and had razor burn...NO MATTER WHAT I DID. I use an electric trimmer, like one that you would use for grooming a dog..lol. It works well, and there are no red bumps! I used to use something called Veet as well, butyou have to be careful not to burn your skin with it. I still use it on my arms though.

Good luck!

They make special shaving creams that prevent bumps and burn. One kind is called "Coochie". Check the store in the shaving or hair removal section and you should find something.

And of course they always recommend to shave WITH the grain (although we all know that's BS and you just can't get a close shave unless you go AGAINST the grain.)

I shave everything. You can buy a product called Tend Skin at a local beauty supply store. Call around and ask for it. You apply it right after you shave and no more razor burn or rash!!!

OK...bear with me here. There is this stuff called Magic. Its made for African American mens facial hair. It comes in a powder and you mix it with water and apply it. Leave it on 10 minutes and wash off. Its the EASIEST thing ever and works so well. No bumps, no razor burn, no itch...and you can get it for like 2 dollars a can. Its so cheap. Just look in the aisle for AA skin care stuff. I promise its awesome...oh yea Dont use the Extra strength...its really strong and doesnt work as well. Just use the regular. Also it says to scrape off with a spatula but i assure you a wash cloth works just as well!!
