The big 3 are Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion
The number to call if you don't want to do it over the Internet is 1-877-322-8228 but I was told that there is a form to fill online anyway, and that they will ask you to mail it so they can send you your report.
The form is for identity verification purposes

Yes, you can use the phone number listed above to check your credit report. You can do this for free three times a year. I'd suggest you mark your calander, get Equifax in Feb, Experian in June and TransUnion in Oct.

Trans Union and Equifax are the other two major credit reporting agencies.
You can get a free credit report, minus the score at:
https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp
There are other sites that offer a "free" credit report, but you have to provide a CC number. The link above is to the REAL free consumer credit report as ordered by the government so that consumers can monitor their report for ID theft issues as well as make sure what is on your report is factual.
Hope this helps!

you're allowed one unfastened credit record a 365 days immediately from the reporting companies. there are countless to choose from: Experian, Transunion, and so on. on account that they're separate reporting companies, you may desire to technically get (2) comments in keeping with 365 days for unfastened. it relatively is a stable concept to envision it that in many cases, with as a lot identification theft/fraud that exists. sure, it relatively is real that too many inquiries deflate your score, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that it relatively is regularly in basic terms quickly. each time you fill out a credit application, each time you acquire those "prescreened" grants of credit in the mail; those companies have regarded at your credit historic past, and the score deflates.
