Brighton would be one place you could. A mixture of different people living together - it's popular with musicians and art/performing arts people. Obviously there is the gay community there, although I think there are misconceptions about how much it influences the area.
Like Camden, if you're looking for somewhere where slack-jawed idiots don't stand around gawping at your style all day then it's a good place (although avoid the **** pubs and clubs purely catering for d*ckhead stag parties).

The Orkney Islands. The police there won't pick you up for begging without a license, and not many yobs around to pick a fight.
But since this is under food, you can also get a nice sausage roll over there for a good price.

Bath or Bristol. Camden is exhausting. It's fun to visit, but living in London generally is aging in my opinion.
