My parents both passed away in the last 2 years. One of my brothers took it upon himself to use their credit cards and make over $6,000 in purchases. Since finding this information out, I have canceled all of the credit cards, I pulled a copy of their credit report and notified the credit agencies. WHat can happen to my brother, he committed credit card fraud about 12 years ago and just got probation.

Probably NOTHING! Assuming that the estate's assests have been divided, he will have to pay it back.
He will hire a slick lawyer to say that he was an authorized user on the cards of your parents.
I am sorry that you are having to deal with this. sometimes the deaths of loved ones bring out the worst in people.

The real question is what is going to happen to you!
Is your brother on drugs?
Is there a reason other than stupidity and greed? If so,
He is going to be very angry at you for cutting off his gravy train and might even try to hurt you.
(seriously, you dont know what he is capable of because if you did, you would have canceled those credit cards sooner). It is important that you let SOMEONE else know what he did so that if he does try something on you it wont classified as a coincidence.

p.s. I hate to sound mean but do you KNOW the cause of your parents' deaths?
People really do do strange things for money!
