Recommend doctor. Make an appointment as soon as, better to be safe than sorry.

The major symptom of an ulcer is a burning or gnawing feeling in the stomach area that lasts between 30 minutes and 3 hours. This pain is often interpreted as heartburn, indigestion or hunger. The pain usually occurs in the upper abdomen, but sometimes it may occur below the breastbone. In some individuals the pain occurs immediately after eating. In other individuals, the pain may not occur until hours after eating. The pain frequently awakens the person at night. Weeks of pain may be followed by weeks of not having pain. Pain can be relieved by drinking milk, eating, resting, or taking antacids.

What are the symptoms of an ulcer?

Abdominal discomfort is the most common symptom. This discomfort usually

* is a dull, gnawing ache

* comes and goes for several days or weeks

* occurs 2 to 3 hours after a meal

* occurs in the middle of the night (when the stomach is empty)

* is relieved by eating

* is relieved by antacid medications

Other symptoms include

* weight loss

* poor appetite

* bloating

* burping

* nausea

* vomiting

Some people experience only very mild symptoms, or none at all.

*********Emergency Symptoms*************

If you have any of these symptoms, call your doctor right away:

* sharp, sudden, persistent stomach pain

* bloody or black stools

* bloody vomit or vomit that looks like coffee grounds

They could be signs of a serious problem, such as

* perforation—when the ulcer burrows through the stomach or duodenal wall

* bleeding—when acid or the ulcer breaks a blood vessel

* obstruction—when the ulcer blocks the path of food trying to leave the stomach

i had similar symtoms to yourself. i went to the doctor and was advised to get an endoscopy (small camera down the throat into the stomach) to see what the problem was. needless to say that was not the nicest experience of my life!they can knock you out for the proceedure and i would advise it. they check if there are visable signs of irratation, ulcers etc. unfortunity they dont have a clue what is wrong with me, but hopefully you are more lucky then me!ulcers can be treated and maintained and a change in diet can help. i suggest gettin an endoscopy to see what is up

abdomen Ulcers, or Peptic Ulcers as they're in many cases referred to as, do no longer in all probability burst. they're extra of a hollow or erosion in the tummy lining. simply by tummy acid, they may be very painful. I even have had ulcers on account that i became into 14 and that they suck!

a lot of digestive problems have similar symptoms and often the pain felt travels from a different area there is an aw full lot that doctors do not know about the workings of the digestive system so unless you are lucky you will be diagnosed with a syndrome

I would definatly see a Dr., considering there was blood in your vomit.

Stomach ulcers are triggered by certain foods and drinks. Try avoiding, alcahol, caffeine, spicey foods, sugary foods and smoking if you smoke.

Hope you feel better soon:)
