so we were chatting on facebook, we worked together this past summer. She said she was on a date in the movies and the guy said "He fancied her" which she said made her sick. I felt sorry so I said "I fancy you doesnt sound bad" Since her knowledge of proper English is close to zero she thought that my sentence meant I actually fancy her and is very proud of it. How do I suavely tell her she misunderstood?

Tell her that a guy saying that he fancies a girl isn't a bad thing, and that you're not the one saying that to her. If she is acting as if you just said you like her, then tell her that you think she's a great girl, but not for you. Either way, even if you do say that, there will be no convincing her that you didn't just say one thing and then another. She'll probably be mad, but at least you set the record straight.

Tell her that you like her, but just go out and explain the situation. Just make her understand that youre not interested but make sure she doen't end up thinking that she's not attractive. I know that I have trouble hurting people's feelings. Try to make it as lite as possible to take...
