Ozone is just O3 instead of O2. It is produced all the time in cities during the summer months when hydrocarbons like gasoline are volatilie because of the higher temperatures, but we call it smog and air pollution. The ozone layer is produced in the tropical rain forests and is carried to the northern latitudes by winds in the atmosphere.

Ozone, as has already been mentioned, is a molecule of three oxygen atoms.

It is a very aggressive oxidizer and is usually formed in a high energy environment, like where electrical arcing or sparks (or lightning) is occuring. In the upper atmosphere, it's formed when ultraviolet light hits the upper atmosphere. Ozone is very good at absorbing ultraviolet light without permanently decomposing.

Certain compounds with covalently bonded chlorine (usually chloroflorocarbons) will "poison" this reaction in the upper atmosphere, such that the Ozone isn't reformed when it's hit by ultraviolet light. It could be produced and "seeded" into the upper atmosphere, but would simply breakdown because of the presense of the chloroflorocarbons.

Small amounts of ozone are also produced in the lower atmosphere by a complex reaction of nitric oxides, hydrocarbons, and light. The first two are by-products of having internal, gasoline engines. This ozone may also absorb ultraviolet light, but is extremely dangerous to be around and breath. Because it's a high energy oxidizer, it will harm the lungs, when inhaled.

Ozone is made of 3 oxygen molecules.

Ozone breaks up easily as it travels up into the atmosphere.

Ozone is O3. It is an oxygen molecule, O2. with an extra O atached. It is being destroyed by free chlorine in the upper atmosphere. Ozone is also found in smog in our lower atmosphere It effects people with asthma. .

We breath O(sub 2). Ozone is O(sub 3)

There is no actual hole as such. If there were we'd all be dying of cancer or horribly difigured I guess..... It's a very thin layer of ozone rather than a hole.

Oxygen molecules (O2) are converted to Ozone molecules (O3) in the upper atmosphere (3O2 = 2O3), but it would cost a huge amount, and no-one wants to pay for it.

Ozone is oxygen. Instead of having two atoms in a molecule, it has three oxygen atoms.

ozone, or O-zone, is short for Offensive Zone. Its the groove that basketball players get when they shoot and feel like they can't miss. Its composed of practice, determination, and random chance.
