Girl in office keeps giving blow by blow account of her boyfriends dads illness. I wouldn't but she only met the dad a couple of weeks ago. She's doing my head in. The plugs are for my ears or the rope is for My neck. Maybe I need both.

Girl, I feel your pain. As long as she is not your boss, I would rat her out. She obviously doesn't have enough to do and is need of a talking to. I was in management and had to pull people into my office all the time. Most people have no manners and have no idea what is inappropriate at work or in public. Anyone that had a talking to got piles of extra work, too.

They sell small desktop fans, I had to use one. Not because I was hot, it was to help drown out the blabbing. Make sure you don't get one that says it's "quiet", you want some noise. I finally got a white noise machine that also played the sounds of the ocean, rain forest, etc. Between the fan and the white noise machine I drowned out the noise. The offending noise at my office came from a blow hard senior V.P. that never did a days work in his life.

I am so sorry. I understand how awful it is. I used to envision a giant anvil - like from a cartoon- landing on him and we'd never hear the droning again.

Best of luck to you. Take care.

Sorry, no advice other than get job that is not in an office. This kind of pointless blithering did my head in when I worked in office- had to get out!!
You could lie to her and say someone you know is very ill too and she is upsetting you with these conversations and would she be kind enough not to discuss it around you!! Not sure everyone else will thank you, but it is survival of the fittest!!

i have got any plugs or rope but i do have some cable or use some hose pipe or just simply tell her that you couldn't give a s**t about her or her boyfriends problems because you've got more than you fair share at home.

I know exactyly the type of girl in question, you have my deepest sympathy, but unfortunatly no plugs or rope.
Place a paper clip in the pencil sharpner, you may just get it sharp enough to slit your wrists.
Good luck with the rest of your day,
Bye x

How about these cotton balls. You can tell her something in the air has given you an earache. And a headache. And tell her tomorrow you might bring in a cushion to sit on because other stuff is starting to ache, because of SOMETHIN in air!

Get a roll of duct tape for $2.19 at the corner gas station and tape her butt to her desk, and use a nice big piece for her mouth. I know exactly how you feel the girl who was working for me wouldn't stop telling me about her husbands I.B.S. " Who wants to hear about a mans butt problems". I feel for you I really do.

Poor you... Those days have just to put up with, I guess... Go out or let her know it is enough.
