Oh geez...is this supposed to be thought provoking? This question has been asked a million times.
If you are as clever as you think, contemplate that there are no mistakes. Only observances of what has occurred, and conclusions drawn from it.
Is man a mistake of God's...was God's intent to have a creature capable of reason and question. That instead of it being blindly obedient, that it may question everything and still love it's creator.
Is God man's mistake, if you believe the man made God...would that be a mistake. Fear controls people. Fear makes people obey, establishes order, law, and sets a foundation for a society to develop.
I don't see any mistakes...just perspectives on events that have happened.

That's an interesting question.
I suspect most religious people would say that God doesn't make mistakes.
Personally, I think that God is a mistake of man's. In an effort to answer the unanswerable questions, humans have caused so much pain and suffering throughout the centuries... all in the name of what they perceive or interpret to be God's wishes.
And we haven't learned... it still continues today.

The answer to your question is obviously linked to what your personal views on God/religion are. From a Christian point of view man is not a mistake of God's. From an atheistic point of view God is a mistake of man's Take your pick

First off, God is God, he doesnt make mistakes. Secondly, if man got to know God on a personal basis, and not based on what they have been told or read in a book, then maybe man wouldnt be viewed as a mistake. If we led lives the way God intended for us to live, but we instead became a race of 'me, me, me'. The fall of man wasnt God's fault.

Regretably you are toying with a such a question posed in such a way.
Make no mistake about it... all is as it is designed to be, and by the designer.
Mistake?
First you would have to qualify the word to be used in a way that lends credence to the end result being of some spectral anomily of regretableness.
GODS creation and you are NO MISTAKE, when the obviousness of the porpose of it all dawns on you.
The mistake is the direction in which you seem to be seeking an answer to a question of which both the question and the asnwer are frivoluos to the point of the exisrence of everything... so I urge you to seek and ye shall find the truth an the truth shall set you free.

You are assuming there is a god, when you have absolutely no proof.
Mans existence has nothing to do with a god, mistake or otherwise.

God is filled in each and every cell of the universe.
Mind creates boundaries of separation.
Its like an ocean of god with shells made out of god with water inside and outside.
One could say its a play of god with itself within god.
Where is the question of mistake?

God does not make mistakes. That said, God did make the statement that at times it pained Him that He needed to make man into flesh for this particular earth age, because man is so damned hard-headed and stubborn.

false dichotomy
I am a work in progress
and now ... a song...
"He's still working on me"
hummm an E... all together now!!!
He's still working on me to make me what I ought to be.
It took Him just a week to make the moon and stars,
The sun and the earth and Jupiter and Mars.
How loving and patient He must be, He's still working on me.
1. There really ought to be a sign upon the heart,
Don't judge her yet, there's an unfinished part.
But I'll be perfect just according to His plan
Fashioned by the Master's loving hands.
CHORUS:
2. In the mirror of His Word reflections that I see
Make me wonder why He never gave up on me.
He loves me as I am and helps me when I pray
Remember He's the Potter, I'm the clay.
