Your religious beliefs depend on where you live and what kind of beliefs your parents have.

For what it's worth, I think atheists have greater thinking ability than most christians I have met. They tend to think outside the box and it takes more to convince them of a higher power, or for God himself to do the work and show them. But in answer to your question, no, I myself don't believe that christians have a greater perception than atheists.

We could choose to believe in God as Christians do but we don't choose to believe in God because he is not real.
Through faith alone we can believe in anything at all but it doesn't make it real and it doesn't make anyone more perceptive for deluding themselves into a belief through faith.
So the answer is NO!

It could well be possible that this has some bearing on the matter,Jesus said that whoever listens to My Voice know the truth and the truth will set them free.
I think that a great barrier to accepting Christ(Truth) is stubborn pride, a refusal to humble the ego and if you like `surrender yourself to Christ`
Of course other reasons can hamper this journey between Head and Heart, people may experience a lack of love or have had over-bearing parents, and as some studies have shown,a brutal or absentee Father,so that they find it very difficult to relate to God who is Father.

Atheists find it hard to believe, usually because they tend to be reasonable, believers (and not necessarily Christians) have the ability to keep a blind eye towards factual evidence to the contrary, in order to maintain their deep rooted beliefs, unreasonable as these may be.

They like to think so. And atheists like to think that THEY have a greater perception of reality. Nobody has greater anything. They just believe different things.

A perception of what? Just in general? Either way, no. Stupid people run the gamut. They're all over. Being religious doesn't make you any smarter. In some cases, it causes people to be more ignorant and close minded.
Just wondering...do you get a nosebleed sitting up there on your high horse?

I would say the reverse is true.
Christians simply beleive what is being fed to them. Atheists have taken time to logically find reason for their beliefs. It amazes me how many "Educated" christians do not believe in dinosaurs, know nothing of biology, evolution, or astonomy and simply cannot grasp the concept of time.

Yes. Christians perceive with their spirits and their minds. Athiest only perceive with their minds. They miss out on God as their spirits are dead to God.
