i just bought a new hair straightner and i have never had a prob with frizzy flyaways, mostly on top at the roots, after i have straightned my hair. There are like 30 heat settings on the new one. Am i doing it too hot or not hot enough? I use smoothing creme and mousse on a daily basis, but why all of a sudden is my hair out of control!!! It looks horrible!! Any suggestions?

Your hair might be breaking off... turn down the setting on the straightener....because it might be tooo hot. The hottest setting is used for course hair. try using Paul Mitchell Super skinney serum while you hair is wet.. to get the hair straight and when it's dry to get the fly aways down... it really works and it's very lite
and gives volume to your hair!!

I would suggest a lower setting, straighteners are very powerful and they burn your hair right off. You could also start using the pantene shampoo that strengthens your hair if you plan to continue to use the straightener, there are other hair strentheners, i just prefer dove or pantene. My hair used to do the same thing, with the fly-aways, but I never used a straightener. My hair broke-off and fell out from weight loss (Gastric Bypass) I baught Dove fly-away reducer and it helped a lot too, but my roommates stylist told her to by strengthening shampoo when she used her straightener. Biotin is a vitamin I take to make my nails and hair stronger too if that interests you at all :)

definitly turn the heat down. it sounds like breakage. you could try smoothing them down a little with a few drops of extra virgin olive oil.

I think that maybe it is not hot enough and is causing static. I might be wrong though. good luck x
