It has nothing to do with you being fat it's is about the strength in your stomach and in your arms, you need to build the muscles better there before you can even think about lifting your own weight, first lay on your side and lift your leg up as high as you can this will produce great leg and inner thigh muscles, second do a couple of push ups, only start off with about 10 a day, if youre up for doing more, don't you will overwork youself and this will cause backpains, just start with 10 and work yourself up each week, i know its hard but you will eventually get the hang of it and eventually be able to lift your own body weight

If you're not fat, you'll be able to do it soon :)

Its a matter of building up the necessary pectoral(chest) and tricep(outside of the arm) muscles.

Negative pushups as described above would work. If you have access to a bench and dumbbells, you could lie on your back and do presses with the dumbbells (bringing them close to shoulders/chest, then straightening arms. If you can do more than 12 in a set, you're not doing enough weight :)

That would allow you to work up to a push up.

i am in the same boat
try negative push-ups

Get in a push-up position with arms extended and let your body fall to the floor as slowly as you can. Do these in sets of 10 to start. and try to let your body hover above the ground for as long as you can, you will start to be able to stop and push yourself back up with time, and increased upper body strength.
Good Luck and Blessings!

Don't worry. It's simply because your body is not used to push-ups.

Keep trying. You may be able to do one or two in the beginning and it will slowly increase.
