Just an FYI, its called "I'll Be" and its by Edwin McCain. That was for a poster above
I think traditional is more the way to go. There is nothing more striking that the song "Trumpet Voluntary" The trumpets come in and the doors are thrown open and she begins her walk down the aisle. I would speak to your organist and set up a meeting, he will let you know what he can and can not play, as well as actually play them so you can hear. When I heard Trumpet Voluntary I started crying it was just the perfect music for my ears. When you hear a song that you like you can say "Thats it"
Good luck!

The music the church allows you to play is very selective. It has to be in keeping with the church, but not necessarily religious. Your organist should already have sent you something that is accepted at the church. Call them up and ask them for their selections.
Here are the songs we are having at our ceremony:
Mothers Ave Maria (Franz Schubert)
Wedding Party Processional Trumpet Voluntary (Jeremiah Clark)
Bride's Processional Pachelbel Canon In D (Johann Pachelbel)
Psalm I Have Loved You (Michael Joncas)
Gospel Acclamation Celtic Alleluia (Christopher Walker)
Lighting of Unity Candle Bridegroom and Bride (The Iona Community)
Presentation of Gifts Amazing Grace (John Newton)
Mass Acclamations Mass of Creation (Marty Haugen) *note- this is Holy, Holy, Amen, Lamb of God, etc.
Communion Bread that was Sown (Gregory Norbet)
Recessional Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring (Johann Sebastian Bach)

Check with your minister. I know we weren't allowed anything to modern as the organist couldn't play them. Sometimes the old ones are the best in a church. It is an old one but what about "One Hand, One Heart" from West Side Story. It sounds lovely on the organ.

The song by Eric Clapton, 'wonderful tonight' is a beautiful song too. My cousin played at her wedding, actually sung by her brother, and it was so sweet! I think that since your wedding night is a wonderful night and to your husband, you are wonderful. this song will probably be great! and i'm nothing from the 60's or 70's- just some beautiful words sung by a great voice. ^__^

No, the songs do not all might desire to be classic; yet they do might desire to be prayerful. a marriage is a liturgy - a sort of prayer - so the music needs to replicate that. it is why recorded music is likewise discouraged and songs that the congregation can sing are inspired. So in the adventure that your nontraditional church hymns are some thing your church musicians can play, are prayerful, are available in it is going to probable be ok. you will might desire to envision with the priest or the parish's musical director to substantiate. yet i grew to become into those days at a Catholic wedding ceremony that performed extra modern-day music alongside with "You advance Me Up" by Josh Groban

He should've given you some examples of what to choose. Maybe schedule a meeting with the music director? You'll also have to know if there are any restrictions on the music. For example, I wasn't allowed to use any songs that wasn't "church music." That definetely made it more difficult.
