If you got flashed of course they will know. That's the idea.
Are you learning with a proper instructor? Why did he let you speed?
You'll get points on a license you don't even have yet and a nice big fine.
Good luck getting insurance

People can be penalised whether or not in the possession of a full UK license. Many cameras scan both directions - just look for white markings in both directions, in front of many cameras, to see the evidence.
You may get a ban, fine, endorsement etc.
It depends on the excess speed that you or someone else was driving at. Plus some authorities don't prosecute all offenders, even if photographed. Discretionary excess limits are often varied too, so someone else's violation, at the same camera, may result in a different action by the police.
Maybe you're worrying unnecesarily - perhaps it was someone else, or the camera was being tested.
Stick to safe driving all of the time. You skills should improve with more lessons. I'd probably jettison the instructor - professional, dad or whatever, unless they have a really good reason for letting you speed. If it was a pro. consider getting them to pay for penalties or refunding your lesson cost. It wasn't fit for purpose! Threaten to sue them in the small claims courts if they have no good explanation.
Good luck! Keep the roads safer. Rob

Probably not. Standard Gatso's give a double flash and incorporate the vehicle crossing the road markings in the picture to verify the reading. That's in case there is any doubt, they know the distance between the markings and can calculate the speed from the time taken to cover the distance. Either it was taking traffic going the other way or it just flashed for no reason (it has been known).

There are several different types of spped camera's nowadays. the normal sort would have to be on your side of the road for it to catch you.
If it was that sort it could be flashing some one else, unless you were spending heavily it will pick up the opposite lane (your lane)
If it was the other type it could have been flashing you, they will send you a notice stating the date and time of the incident, you can reply and ask for a picture of the vehicle in which case if they have this you will recieve the fine and points.
as asked previously if you were in a instructors car, he shouldnt have let you speed.....!
The points you will get on your licence will only be 3 and as a learner driver these will go onto your licence when you get it. as a learner driver you are allowed maximum of 6 points within a 2 year period, if you accumilate more than this you will loose your licence. for how long is down to the courts.
A speeding fine should normaly come through within 2-3 weeks, they have been known to come through in over 6 months though...
Check with the camera itself, was it painted yellow? if not its a legal matterm that all camera's should be painted yellow.
I would guess that you will be fine, My brother and i used to play about with a camera on the opposite side of the road, the road was a 40mph and we used to go past it a 70mph the opposite way, it flashes and they get a blank photo!!!
Dont worry about it, if it happens it happens... such as life!
Hope this helps

If you were with your driving instructor some if not all of the blame lies with them and it may be that he/she will recieve the fine and points. If your instructor tries to charge you with the fine you can most likely state that you were under his instruction and he should have been keeping his eye on your speed and asking you to correct it where needed. If as i suspect this was the case and you were with a qualified instuctor you will get away with it.
If not, the person who was with you who already has a full licence will have very much the same level of resposibilty.
Be careful when you do pass your test, 6 points on you licence within 2 years of passing your test and you will be banned. usually it's 12 points. This is only after you have had a full licence for 2 years.
It doesn't matter if the camera can see your face. it's seen your reg no. If that is registered to you (as in you own the car) the fine and points will land on your door step. It's then up to you to prove that you weren't driving the car at the time of the camera catching the car speeding.
If you are unlucky enough for your instructor to try to pin it on you seek legal advice. It should be free for a consultation.
Hope this helps. safe driving.

If the camera was facing you when it flashed then it wasnt catching you. If it has caught you then you will get a letter thru the post with a picture of your car. You are looking at 3 points on your provisional license and £60 fine. and your insurance premium just took a giant leap as well

Speed cameras are ''usually'' on the side of the road where they are trying to catch speeders. Was there another car going in the opposite direction to you when it went off??
What speed were you doing and what was the speed limit anyway??

If the camera had any film in, if anybody bothers to look at it, if they got a good picture of you, if the owner of the car tells them it was you, etc. then you have got a problem. One important fact for you to remember is when you drive at a speed below the speed limit you never have to worry about any of this.

they will send a letter containing the photo of the car you were driving to the owner of the vehicle. if they don't want the ticket on their own record, they will have to turn you in. however, in some states there is no law that requires to provide the identity of the driver, just to prove the driver isn't the owner of the car. if they have your picture, you are pretty much screwed. accept the fine and take traffic school to get the point off your license.

if it was a gatso speed camera, which is one of the most popular in the UK, then if the camera was facing you but on the side of the opposite traffic then you would not have been speeding because they can only take pictures on one side of the road.
