have you ever walked into a church that was completely without decoration? no, most churches at any time in history have very ornate stained glass, precious stones and metals throughout...
my father (a doctor of religion) always said that your body is your temple...i've just added stained glass windows and chrome fixtures to my personal church!

That really depends on who you ask, and where in the bible you look. I believe, there is something in the old testament that some believe go against tatoo's. But most christians believe this is not the case, mostly because we go by the new testament. As far as I know, there is nothing in the new testament that would support tattoos being sins.
Personally, I do not believe they are sins. Unless of course you get a 666 or something like that. And if your doing that, I highly doubt you'd be too worried about what God thought, and therefore it wouldn't be an issue.

Although there is an Old Testament prohibition against tattoos, it was due to a cultural phenomenon of tattooing related to pagan worship.
So the question is: Do we have that same issue today? I don't think so. The Bible encourages that whatever we do, do it to the glory of God. So if we get a tattoo- let it be for His glory. That doesn't necessarily mean it has to have something directly God-related. In short- no.

People in the bible also though that the world was flat and that night was a blanket with holes in it. People in biblical times can't always be compered to us in all ways because there lives were drastically different from ours and there understanding of the world was more primitive. Also they got tattoos for different reasons. It could be a mark of ownership like a master owns a slave. Or any number of things.
A tattoo is like a permanent ear ring. If you feel in your heart that your offending God then you are. However if you feel that your being faithful then I say Go ahead. Just give it allot of thought first.

Yeah I mean who gave you you're body? God.
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirt, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD. (Leviticus 19:28 KJV)
I have read this verse several times......and I am going to do like most evangelical Christians and make a literal interpretation.
The verse says YE shall not make.......etc. Using this verse (and taking it as LITERAL) it's my understanding that god is against YOU tattooing yourself......I THINK he intended for us to use a PROFESSIONAL TATTOO ARTIST
that's my story and I'm stickin' to it

i guess it depends on what you believe. while the bible does say in the old testament not to mark your skin with a tattoo it also says tons of other stuff to do and not to do. to not eat certain things on certain days. for husbands not to sleep with their wives on certain dates. for priests to sacrifice certain animals at certain times... frankly MOST modern day christians and religions do not follow the old testament anymore. they generally practice the teachings that are in the new testament. i haven't seen anything about specifically not being tattooed in the new testament but i'm not a bible scholar. i believe in God and i have tattoos. i think as long as my tattoos are not offensive or vulgar then it doesn't reflect negatively on me.

It totally depends on the religion you follow. For instance Jews believe that tattoing your body is desacrating your body, God's creation.
Personally I don't think God minds if you are tattoed or not, he cares more about you being happy and making other people happy and a better world. What kind of God would punish one of Its children just because he/she is tattoed but did everything right? God Loves us!

probably, but we are sinful by nature, just about everything we do is a sin. Do you cut your hair? Shave? Earrings? Makeup? It's all the same.
