question about the quran ?

since we are now living in the 21st century and we are in the year 2007, can we say that the quran is no longer valid as a guide of a way of life in todays society.
- since we do not want to cause terror and violence to other ppl and their religions. such as jews, hindus etc
- men no longer want to have 4 or more wives
- we live in a world where at this moment men and women want to be equal and be all agree that men & women should have equality.
- we live in a world where we all agree that beating of women is completely wrong.
what i am trying to get at is that maybe the quran had good intentions way back but if we follow the quran iin todays world, there would be no non-muslims in this world, since the quran states that anybody not believng in allah and his messenger we shall cause terror.

No, Qur'an were wrote by God to fit all times.

Most of the information you wrote is wrong, "since the quran states that anybody not believng in allah and his messenger we shall cause terror." Qur'an does not state terror.

Instead, It encourages peace with other people. Qur'an encourages "Jihad" which is struggle, fighting for you're country when it's being attacked, for not to be weak. Muslims must be strong and defend their countries. Not to attack and terror.
Also Islam and Qur'an do not allow beating wives, thats a big misunderstanding of Islam, search it more.

first of all if that would happen then you would not be existing now because the quran had said it more than a thousand years ago. can you be sure that man of 2007 already stop marrying more than one? there is no verses in quran saying that men should beat women without any reason. the quran also did not ask the muslim to make violence. it is just as simple as this. when an accident occur, who do you blame?the car or the driver? same goes to Islam(quran), if things wrongly happen then blame the muslim not the religion. muslim comes as a human being which has all the positive and negative elements. they are not angels.do you think that Mahabharata, Bible and other religions book are also invalid to be used starting 2007just because what they preach had already happen?

Men can have up to 4 wives in Islam only if they have the money to support them all and can treat them all equally. Men and women are equal in Islam. Beating is used to punish a disobeiedent wife and is used ONLY as a last resort. Islam doesn't cause terror and violence. We can't kill women, children or the elderly. We have to be kind to animals. We can't wage war except when the people or Islamic religion is threatened. We have to warn the invaders three times before we can attack. We take care of our parents when they're old. Men are the maintainers of women and provide for the family. Women are respected in Islam. They are respected for their minds not their bodies. Women can own property, can choose their husband, can get an education, can accept a dowry from their potential husband, can keep all the possessions they owned before marriage, can work if they want, can keep any money they earn and spend it as they like, can ask for the protection of another man on the street so they aren't molested, they don't have to attend Friday prayers in a mosque, they don't have to pray or fast on their periods, they can refuse a potential husband, etc. Men and women dress modestly so as not to appear like sex objects. Men can have up to 4 wives because in some societies there are more women then men. Palestine is fighting the Zionists occupation in Palestine and Lebanon was attacked by the Zionists. Also with men and women cheating on each other in the West it's better for men to have 4 wives because then they won't cheat. Men in the west sleep with prostitutes, have wives, girlfriends, and mistresses. The Christians and Jews have killed more people than Muslims have. Muslims treat their slaves with respect and treat them as eqauls whereas the USA treated their slaves by raping the women, whipping them to death, and treating them as animals.

I'm a muslim and I would like to bring up the culture vs. Islam argument.

Sometimes people would rather compromise culture for their religion, they take much of their culture and combine it with Islam and label the whole thing as Islam. But when you add or subtract anything from Islam, it's not Islam anymore!

Women and men have equal rights in Islam,

Islam doesn't promote terror and violence, it promotes peace,

Forced marriages are forbidden in Islam,

What so great about living in the 21st , we as human are still same with the pasts nothing inside changed.We loved to play with words and the virus of alls when we play with GOD words without fully understand what the words stand for, just to proved to others that we are wiser than GOD.Perhaps you are wise in writing and reading but you are dumb in 'meaning'. hi, i think you know very little about islam, first it is peace religion, and it doesn't state any terror, it want peace to everybody, expect who don't respect islam, i mean by this that when there is some country that kill people because they are muslims we must fight, and i think this is very normal ( of course in islam you cannot kill women, children, old people, and any people has no relation with the war, and you cannot destroy they country, for example buldings or trees), you must be good with no muslims and try to explain them about islam, so terror you see in this days cames from people who don't understand islam and they want to defend themself, and i think they have right! look , how many people gorge bush kill, they may be mellion or more, look what jews do how many they kill in any day, so when we are talking about terror we must talk about them first, now, when you talk about women and children, islam gave them right more than any other religion, look at your country how many women are raped, how many women do abortion(kill),how many women are single with babies, and how many women are hitten, how many men loose their mind and families because of alcohol, try to look how you must treat you wife in islam and you will be very surprised. islam is very great religion , it is same christian, expect some differences. we love Jesus and respect him , in our religion he is respected like Muhammed. and i have the last question to you: do you think that God who creat us and the whole world doesn't know what is best to the people, do you think before 1000 year it was ok but now people are so educated that they know more than their God so they do their religion by them self , of course every group creat it's own.well i think that God know that is best to all in the same time, because when you think only about yourself ,He think about poor before rich aggrieved before unjust. pls before talking about islam blindly like anyone ,read about it ,Quran is a big mericle you will see. but because most people who talk about it don't know anything,and they only think about harming our religion,they say only bad things.
