I think it all part of their genes. Gay men are born this way and probably have more femine genes. They are also in general softer people and very kind, considerate and caring.

Some gay men do this because they want to act like what they think men want, which is usually a woman. However, i know lots of gay men who act more butch then some of the straight ones. Sometimes there childhood has something to do with it. Other times its all an act.

Haven,t a clue. I was going to ask this one myself
cos I wondered if there is a certain stage that they
start talking like that. It makes it easy for other gay
men to know their gender as well.

lol JIM E , noi but seriously its because they want to be like women in every way hence the voices,flailing arms and the swinging hips(in some cases)

Because they do it... They want to be women.. Women eventhough they have soft voices sometimes they push it a little bit more.. well gay man wnat to be femenine they push it a lot more!!!

They are feminine and so they get their voices to match their personalities and feel more...feminine. lol.

I think it's something scientific... Like in their genes they are gay one way or another.. and it may be to do with testosterone levels.... They have lower amounts than a straight man?
Maybe... just guessing mind...

They put the femenine voice on, i think its to let people know they are gay without actually saying they are ,,,,,,,
