this is where friends and family have a party for the pregnant woman and they shower her with baby gifts, this is where the term shower came from.

Sort of like a wedding shower. When all the family/friends of the pregnant woman have a get together and gives her all types of gifts she'll need after the baby.

a baby shower is when family and friends get together and give gifts for the new baby, play games, eat, laugh, and just have fun. It's for expecting mothers of course. I'm gonna be having mine real soon!
