I'm in the process of transferring Health Insurance, so I can't really go to the doctor...any suggestions for recommended over the counter meds would be awesome! Thanks.

Symptoms:
1. i am hot to the touch (others'), but I feel cold. fever?
2. my throat is on FIRE!
3. I cough incessantly, but no congestion or runny nose...
4. frequent and enduring headaches
5. i hurt (especially my head) when touched...i have this nervous habit where i run my fingers through my head...this hurts too!
6. two days ago i kept getting dizzy, but that hasn't occured in the past day

Thanks again. I rarely get sick, and its been so long since I've had the flu, I can't remember what its like. I've never had a flu shot...

It sure does sound the flu. Even if you could go to the doctor, he wouldn't do anything other than your basic home care anyway, since the flu is a viral situation and not bacterial, so nothing would make it better.
Just push fluids like crazy (clear fluids like apple jiuce is better while you have a fever, when fever is gone can have OJ orr other juices), keep a humidifier (or a bowl of boiling water just slowly evaporating and getting cool will also do in a pinch), take an advil or motrin every 6 hours or so as needed for fever and pain (NEVER exceed 4 single advils per 24 hours as directed on the bottle) and then just hang in there until it passes. Do not take a cough suppresant in the day (and take at night ONLY if the coughing is keeping you from getting any rest), because your body needs to get rid of the chest congestion through coughs.
That's all. Hope you feel better. If you have someone who can get you some clear brothy soup (like chicken noodel) take's going to help too.

A doctor might actually prescribe an antibiotic; sounds like you may have Streptococcus pyogenes having a Field day in your throat. It will probably clear up on it's own, but if you start to get congested in the head it means you may have a secondary bacterial infection in your sinuses. Hope that I helped, get better fast.

Sounds like dry air in the home, boil steam and put a pinch of salt in water.
Gargle with vinegar warm water.
A spoon full of horseradish sauce helps throat.
Rub chapstick on forehead.
Drink more water or eat strawberries for dizzy.
