The dvd played using power dvd but i want to use windows has my default player ,it seems to play it has an cd not a dvd,any ideas ?????

It is totally your choice for whatever player you prefer but i think there is only 1 codec a person needs .XviD-1.1.2-01112006.exe .....Try the link below

I agree with Top Cat. I have Power DVD and am very happy with it. WIN DVD is also excellent. Unfortunately I had it ony me hard drive that decided to die. Both those programs you have to buy after a trial of 30 days. I am in SA where it is a bit on the dear side to buy but if you are in the UK I am sure you can get it much cheaper. Media Player is fine but I find it not to be so user friendly as WIN DVD and POWER DVD.

You need to buy the plug in for Windows Media Player in order to play DVD's through WMP.

why power DVD is far better than media player
but if you want to use media player i agree with the others its codecs

wipe off dvd first
download media player 11

You will probably need a CODEC. A CODEC is a piece of code that decodes a binary file so that you can play it. It is easy to get the CODECs. You can download a pack of them at:

tried the same thing the DVD must be in perfect condition the laser in a computer are alot more fussy good luck
