I have found so many foods lately that say they have an improved recipie. Most have no taste and are not as good as the used to be. Example: smooth peanut butter. I used to love that but won't touch it now.

If it isn't broken, then don't fix it. Anyone else agree?

Hi i agree with you 100%, they are always messing with stuff why cant they leave it alone. If it says new and improved i dont bother getting it as i know it will end up not tasting the same. The thing is as its all the healthy eating stuff and less salt, because we arent used to eating healthy all the time we dont like the taste. But they even change the taste of crisps like the walkers sensations, three cheese and red onion ones. my mum had finally found some crisps that she like and you can only get them with vinager on now and they are disgusting.
Its always the brand makes that tend to d this so i just buy the cheap stuff and you can gurantee it tastes better and never changes.

I hate "improved" recipes... if they must improve it they might as well also sell the original along side it. Smooth peanut butter is terrible I can't stand it, they really messed it up, even some chunky peanut butter recipes are awful, I have to eat the natural stuff now, but that's not so bad, just seems it has too much oil even when stirred up, and oil separation is a pain.

I agree. What is sad is the label "New and improved!" is merely a marketing strategy. Fact of the matter is when you see "New and improved!" it means that the company had taken shortcuts to make production cheaper and are using marketing strategies to promote mental persuasion. Its quite simple really...tell the consumer that the product is better even if it is actually worse...consumer BUYS! BUYS! BUYS! under the stimulus that they are actually receiving a better product...in turn the manufacturer profits. Shame really. Old and dirty trick used by companies all the time.

I won't get into a discussion of abortion, but you certainly do have some misconceptions about "deadbeat" fathers. Most men do care about their children. Most men do support their children and, if they don't, it is usually because they have lost jobs, had health problems, had trouble paying living expenses plus expenses for a child, or other reasons. Once a man gets behind, it is often impossible for him to get caught up. And he is treated like scum of the earth by Friend of the Court personnel, no matter how hard he tries to keep up his payments. The main reason many fathers give up on seeing their children is because of the attitude of the divorced mothers. Divorces are usually between two angry people, and very often the mother, who has custody, uses the children to get back at her former husband. I know men who have traveled long distances to see their children, only to be denied access to them. I know women who collect child support, ADC, and work under the table, plus live with another man, while the father struggles to pay his bills. It is very important for the relationship between divorced parents to be amicable, even if they have to pretend. Otherwise, it is harmful for the children. It isn't easy raising children alone. Nor is it easy to leave your children behind. We all know that divorce laws are designed to favor the woman, although some of them are now slowly being changed. Now that the Morning After pill is readily available and prevents pregnancy, there is no need to have the abortion debate any longer unless it involves innocent young girls pregnant by relatives or family friends who have no knowledge of this medication and are too young to realize what is happening to them.

Yes!

Recipes are too often 'improved' (I think the company means they are replacing the ingredients for something cheaper) leaving foods tasting different and often of a lesser quality. If it's popular then why change it?!

I agree. Names as well. Opal fruits were much better than forgettable star burst. Snickers just don't taste the same as a marathon. And do you remember when M&Ms were Treets?

Here's one - what about the Supermarkets "cheap" brand and the "Expensive" brand. They are exactly the same products, just fancier packaging to try and get people to spend more money.
