why is it that ypu believe in God and the bible? I'VE EXPERIENCED MORE THAN 'ENOUGH' CRAP IN MY LIFE NOT TO BELIEVE IN A HIGHER POWER.
is it because you were brought up that way? NOPE. MY DYFUNCTIONAL FAMILY WHILE GROWING UP WAS ENOUGH REASON TO SEEK SOMETHING FAITHFUL AND HIGHER.
if so have you ever questioned your faith? MANY TIMES THAN I CAN COUNT AND I'VE NEVER BEEN LET DOWN.
have you ever asked questions or do you just take the bible for what it says and not question it? I SAY IF YOU DONT SEEK, YOU WONT FIND AND I NEVER WANT TO STOP SEARCHING.

I question everything! I was not raised in a bible believing home. When I brought my questions to Scriptures, they were answered. Not always in the way I wanted them to be, but with consistency. The Almighty YHVH created this world very good. Once man sinned, he could no longer meet the requirements of YHVH. Because of His great love for man, He sent His son the Savior. The Savior's name means YHVH is my Savior!--YAHOSHUA! The only way one can have his sins taken care of is to invite the Savior in to carry them. If a person chooses to remain attached to their sins, they will be consumed in the cleansing fire the Almighty will send to cleanse this world so He can make it new! How could the Almighty be more generous?

i never take anything for granted. i always question everything but here the point is belief and faith. i was born a christian, my country is christian, even my flag has the cross on it. its the way i live, what i do everyday and what my parents told me. its not a choice from the beginning since you are born with your religion but it is a choice later. when you grow up you can find out by searching and learning about other religions if what you believe is true and suits your philosophy.

I believe in God because He saved me from Death. I should be dead. I have questioned my faith and I was miserable. Following God and the Bible gives me inner peace and changes me. Without it I am very shy and timid With it I am strong, bold and assertive. I sk questions because we are commanded to test the spirits to make sure its the truth. Sad to say a majority of the church has fallen away from the truth of God's word in my opinion For example, what I call the greed doctrine, give a preacher so much and God will make you rich that's not in the Bible. God will bless us if we give to Him but he will bless us with not only money but health and inner peace.

A yahoo answer is too short for your question.

Suffice to say, I have had to dismantle every single piece of my Catholic faith and rebuild it again while looking for the chink in the Church's armour, at a time in my life when it would have suited me to find one. They were the worst two years of my life and yet they were liberating, for at the end I no longer had my family's faith - I had my own. Today I believe and I know why I believe.

God says I could live forever on earth and all I have to do is follow some rules outlined in the Bible. If it's true, then good on me, and if it's not true, then what was there to lose, I'll be with the rest of mankind, where ever they may be.

you know what, I already had questioned that many, many times to myself. You may ask yourself, where the hell everything comes from? Me? I always end up, there must be somebody who made it, may it be the energy that some had been arguing so hard, and that is God. Even the pagan world, they still have that belief that Somebody is somewhere who made everything happened and is making everything happen. And therefore, I believe in God.

Simply because He is who He says He is. No other religion can say that truthfully. And no, we are not stuck in dogma. All you who don't believe in Jesus Christ are stuck in it.

Yes, I have questioned my faith and studied others. None can compare. What do you think is the purpose of Wed. night Bible Study? We ask questions, debate questions and learn.
