Hello You greate people.
I have an problem in folder. It is Readonly. I want to change its permission. I uncheked its Readonly option and clicked on ok. It have done but when again I want to check its permission it is same as before. Readonly. It is not only for a folder this problem exist in entire folder of hardisk.

In short. Folder permission can not change, It come back again readonly permission.

OS: WindowXP Professional.
Disk: G: Drive

I have 160 GB HDD. There are 9 partisans including G:\
My machine is the single machine and i am only a user here. and have all previlages.

CD-ROM Drive are not inlcuded in this.

Drive G sounds as though it may be a network drive. It may be set by the system administrator as read only and you would have to be assigned privileges in order to modify the files inside the folder. The drive G could also be a drive such as a CD ROM, in which case the files are only read only and privileges to modify can not be assigned. Most read only files can be 'saved as' if they need to be modified, but they would have to be saved as a new name and not as the original file.

G: drive what ur using must be cd-rom or DVD rom it will always be read only, hard disk files will be changable. but cd-dvd will not be, still us can do this copy the file and change the folder. and
remove all the read only files both in main folders and sub folder, and apply and click ok

Contact your system administrator and have him change your policies or give you admin rights on your machine.
