I have worked in health care a great deal of years, my conclusion is some actually do not have any family left, but for the most part the children to the elderly dont like to see their loved one in that condition or they just refuse to visit because they have their own life to live, oh and they never have time. or the elderly have dementia/altzeimers and the family feels whats the point they dont know me, which is a crock of bull or some are just greedy and have already taken their property or possesions and just dont care. Thats my perception on those, but for the most part in closs knit families, they are visited everyday and are in concern to their well being and treatment, and visit very regularily.
