Over population, in my opinion is not a big problem, if we look around us we will find plenty of vacant areas as well as over crowded areas, the reason is that people used to stuck to the civilization, so if we want to really solve the problem of over crowded areas, we have to invest money in the non-civilized places all over the world, make it attractive for individuals seeking good life conditions. Also we have to take care of our planet, so that we can keep the suitable places for living, protect these places being destroyed by us, so the solution will become increasing the land not decreasing the people.

Over population is a myth. It is not a problem. People are the most important resource of a nation. Without people the nation will die. European nations know this so they offer incentives to their citizens to give birth. In some countries they will give you money if you have more than three children. If you and I are dead where would that leave us? You and I and everyone are God's greatest gifts to mankind. If you kill us all, there would be no more overpopulation and no more world. There is enough food for everyone. We have to share our resources and help the poor. People are not the problem. Greed and love of money are. Over population is a myth propagated by people who want to make money out of their destructive contraceptives. Contraceptives cause birth defects, cancer, infections, abortions, etc. Concoms don't prevent aids they spread it because some of them are defective. Read the book War against Populations and any good prolife book. Check out prolife sources before they deceive you to kill your children. Read it while you still can save your children and the children of the world. God bless you.

I believe that you have, intentionally or accidently, based your question on a faulty premise. Thomas Malthus said the earth could not produce enough food and there would be mass starvation, disease and famine. He writes:

"The power of population is so superior to the power of the earth to produce subsistence for man, that premature death must in some shape or other visit the human race. The vices of mankind are active and able ministers of depopulation. They are the precursors in the great army of destruction, and often finish the dreadful work themselves. But should they fail in this war of extermination, sickly seasons, epidemics, pestilence, and plague advance in terrific array, and sweep off their thousands and tens of thousands. Should success be still incomplete, gigantic inevitable famine stalks in the rear, and with one mighty blow levels the population with the food of the world."

His pessimistic outlook is rejected by most scientists as he could not know the tremendous improvements in science, medicine and agricultural techniques. As a result of these leaps in technology, people are able to be fed with decreased land use for farms, and land able to be used for other purposes.

As a previous poster noted, many countries in the world are experiencing a decrease in population due to a selfish extension of adolescence and a focus only on the now and not thinking of the future. It has taken us thousands of years to overwrite our core DNA and decide it is more desirable to breed than to procreate. We will deal with the issues this causes as we are overrun by those countries who didn't get the memo. Most of these countries are populated by poor people who practice hegemonic religions and seek to overpower those who will not convert.

Read 'America Alone' by Mark Steyn for more details on the problem of world underpopulation.

By allowing natural selection. In every other species, there are natural predators...we need some lions and tigers to help thin out the sick, weak and old. Which in turn would produce strong, healthy people.
I agree with MAX...quit letting the weak pass on weakness.
Mandatory sterilization for those that are unfit to be parents (drug addicts, those that commit heinous crimes, etc, the LAZY)

Sterilize criminals, stop saving retards & old people, & good old contraception. As for the third world countries that won't stop breeding, if we don't feed them, there will be less of them. Let that problem be it's own cure. (nothing personal, just my opinion)
