love is sacrificial and unconditional
as a Christian i would say it almost a cast iron certainty that i do love you.
but as i don't know u and have not seen u i could not be "In love" with u.
"In love" is a much more intensely personal thing. It is a feeling within which is also based on physical attraction. the former isn't.

i think love begins at friendship.u dont know someone as u think u do until u`re one.sensual love apply to ur emotions and as such pain & aching can be easily adapted.i think someone saying i love u is expressing it and is a normal thing but saying i`m in love with u is like u can tell & feel the expression.

Being in love, means someone you can't get enough of. You stay up all day and night thinking of this person. This is most likely to be your partner/wife/girlfriend etc.
I love you is said to family and relatives. It would be awkward if you told them, for example, your dad, Dad, I'm in love with you.

Well somebody can "love you" but its more of a sisterly / brotherly kind of love as the way you love your family if your "in love" with somebody then thats completley different and a completley different feeling and kind of love and you just know the difference.

You can love someone like a type of caring about them. Being in love with them means you want more.

"I love You" is a state of mind of which requires very little effort and is often temporary and easily swayed by other temptations.
"In Love" is a state of being which requires constant conscious commitment and willingness of devotion for an infinite amount of time that is never swayed or broken by temptations.
You'll only truely understand the diffenence when you're in love with someone who is in love with you.

"I love you" is more definite and permanent. Since one can fall "out" of love just as you fall "in", being "in love" can be a temporary thing.
"I love you" means you love the other person through thick and thin and despite the faults they may have. It can be directed towards family members or friends.
"I am in love with you" is appropriate when the person you are talking to is the centre of your passionate feelings or desire, such as a potential girlfriend, wife, partner.
You may be "in love" with somebody and it is just a romantic infatuation that will pass, or feelings which gradually will wear off through familiarity or discontent.
The two are not exclusive of one another.
I fell in love with my husband, I was in love with him for several years when he was young and dashing. After forty years of picking his socks and pants from the floor daily and putting them in the linen bin, I love him to bits, but I am definitely no longer "in love" with him. He, on the other hand, is still in love with me, and I have no idea why.

Being IN LOVE indicates a romantic component. LOVING is more of a general warm-fuzzy feeling, like you'd have for grandma.
You can both LOVE your significant other and BE IN LOVE WITH him/her...but it would be pretty weird if you LOVED and WERE IN LOVE WITH grandma.
At least, that's how I think of it.
