That's what the famous expression "Absence makes the heart grow fonder" means.
Sometimes when people are away, we only think about what we miss. When they are with us, we don't have to pay too much attention to them.
Think about all the things you take for granted.
I use to take many things for granted, until they were no longer there. Then all I could think about was how much I missed those things.

Was that meant to be profound or are you just that f*cking stupid? We don't miss someone who's with us, because they're there. That's like asking "Why don't I feel homesick while I'm at home?"
