Recently, since about a month ago, I've been having chest pains that last about 2-3 seconds and then go away. I get these pains nearly every 2-3 days or so. At first I thought you get them now and then but I keep getting them every couple of days. They're really short but pretty sharp pains in my chest. Is there anything to worry about? Btw , I'm 18 years old and I don't drink OR smoke.

The pains are caused by gas. If they only last 2-3 seconds, I'd say just wait it out. If they last longer, you can get rid of them by taking a deep breath. The pain will greatly increase for an instant as you squeeze the gas bubble out. Then the pain will vanish.

What you describe is actually quite common in teenagers and young adults. For some reason, likely from growing, it seems that muscle and sometime cartilage seems to get 'pinched' by the ribs. Many, many teens and young adults experience this, and it goes away.
If your pain seems to happen when you are exercising, then you need to see a doctor, but likely you are fine.

Since I have no medical degree I'm going to suggest you go to someone who does.

It may be as a result of persistent cough or pneumonia. Also, stop lifting heavy things.
