right click on the start menu
select properties
click customize
click the advanced tab
and untick list my most recently opened documents

Right Click on taskBar>>Properties>>Start Menu>>click Customize>>Advanced>>and uncheck the box of "List my most recently opened documents.">>OK>>OK.

open control panel, click on safeXP , under Windows (remove from start menu) tick 'my recent document'.

you right click on the task bar, select properties. select startup and click on the customize button. on the classic start menu . it is easier to understand on the classic. all you do here is hit the "clear" button. when you clear them, don't hit the apply button on the bottom once you are back to the start menu screen if you don't like the classic view screens.
