4 cups of coffee a day is way too much. Your body is expending a lot of energy just trying to break down the caffiene in your body, therefore creating a lot of stress on your body.
Try cutting down gradually to 1 or 2 cups a day. Black tea only has half the caffiene as coffee and also contains anti-oxidants. A nice cup of black tea at 2 in the aft really hits the spot.
Most Decaf coffee has the same amount of caffiene as black tea, minus the anti-oxidant properties, so dont bother with that.
Green Tea is a popular alternative if you still need the caffiene but on a smaller scale.

Four times a day is a bit too much of anything, with or without caffeine why not just 1 cup a day and another of tea or better still green tea, this way you will be introducing variety as well as moderation, good luck with the change if you do try it out & good health as well.

Tea. A spot of tea in the afternoon, with a cucumber sandwich. I don't really like coffee. And black coffee? No way. I'd rather survive on my spit. Gross tasting, too much caffeine.

Caffeine is a problem. It makes you nervous and you can't concentrate as well as you could with drinking decaffeinated coffee
If you like coffee and tea, try to drink the decaffeinated kind. It's much healthier for you.

Excessive intake of coffee can lead to palpitations of the heart.
As with all foods moderation is key.
You don't mention whether you are drinking instant or fresh coffee.Instant would have less adverse effect

Tea is always better. It has less caffeine which can give you insomnia, zits and nervousness. Tea has lots of protective chemicals and its a classier drink.

it depends on your tolerance and GIT health. if you are caffeine-sensitive, it is not advisable, but if you're not, you can enjoy it. other than that coffee contains high amount of antioxidants that could protect cell damage.
