constant night shift is not for everyone.

You have a problem , it may be mild depression or SAD.

promise me you willl see a doctor. And get out in the sunlight more.

Some people's natural biological rhythm and body clock can't function with unusual time schedules. I am the same way. If the shift keeps interfering with your sleep cycles, first ask if there is any way that you can be changed to a different shift. If they can't accommodate you, I would seriously consider looking for another job during the day instead of sleeping through the day all the time.
If you are working 3rd shift, stay up after work and look for a different job that allows you a normal schedule. Do so until roughly 3 or 4 in the afternoon. Then go home and sleep until you have to go to work. If working second shift, go home and go to bed, then wake early enough so you can get up and job hunt until time for work in the afternoon.
Alternatively, my ex used to work graveyard. He would stay up after work and go out with his other friends who had the same shift. Then he would come home, visit with me for awhile before going to bed at roughly 11 midmorning or so. He would sleep until 5 or 6 when dinner was ready, then spend the evening with the family before going to work. He did this for about 2 years. But, he was a night person anyway. He complained about the topsy turvy way he had to live, but he managed to work his way into a regular-so to speak- lifestyle.
Good luck

Don't allow yourself more than 8-hours of sleep each day, and set your alarm so you wake up at a regular and specific time. And most importantly, get out of bed immediately and do something active to force your body into wakefulness. If you feel yourself getting sleepy whilst watching telly, stand up quickly and walk about until you're alert again. By sleeping 15-16 hours on your days off, you're not allowing your internal body clock to adjust to your new working hours.

It's probably from throwing off your body's sleep cycle by staying up all night and sleeping all day. I have the same problem and my doctor's solution was to get a new shift. My solution is caffeine ... which doesn't help much. Some people's bodies just can't handle a reversed sleep schedule.

There may be a psychological problem with you .If you are in depression or a situation like depression you may want to sleep more more more. But if your body feels to sleep you should sleep if you have time .

I'm that way when I work days. You should let them know working nights goes against your body rhythms and work towards getting another shift.

i do it too.....its because ...i feel like theres nothing to do if i wake up..so i just sleep as much as needed..whenever that is...if you set things up for every single day at a certain time..it will help you wake up....like working a little each day on certain projects, investing, business, crafts, chatting, etc etc....
