the only conclusion i can believe is related to the resurrection of the saints coming out of the graves.

hmm, i guess people dont see what i see! i believed Jesus is the firstfruits ALONG with those who were already witnessed to come from the grave. as far as the second coming, that might be the end of the first resurrection

First-fruits is a statement referring to the best of the best...the first fruits of the labor...the very best and first of a crop to ripen and be harvested. Jesus fits the description by virtue of being the first to be resurrected as he was with the perfected new body.

When it talks about the saints coming out of the graves and appearing to the city, that means that the saints which have died during Jesus' time, will appear unto the city for everyone to see them.

"First fruits" I think is referring to those who become Christ's "people" or will get to dwell with Him eternally. They will be the ones in the first resurrection...after the millenium.

*****I wanted to add something - when we look back on when God's people used to perform sacrifices, they would offer up the "first fruits" or "firstlings of the flocks" because they were the most "perfect"...that is in similitude of the Saviors sacrifice, so therefore, Christ could be referred to as the "first fruits"...

I would say look at the original hebrew/Aramaic texts and it might make a little more sense. Or not.
