When a child is named after his father he becomes for example John Junior, but it isnt the same if a child is named after the mother? As you never hear of a female being either Janet Senior/Junior.

Because the woman usually takes on her spouse's name. That means the daughter is not a Jr. If the female keeps her own, birth name, when she marries, and names the daughter with her name and not the spouse's name, the daughter would be a Jr. Most women want the daughter to have dad's last name, you know, in case of break up, it reminds him of his obligation to the child. Junior, Jr, is attached to the birth name of the father or mother with the same exact name at time of birth. My brother was named after both grandfathers but his name was exactly like one of them. My parents did NOT call him the second as is usually the custom. He was named after 2 different people. Herbert after dad's dad and Charles after mom's dad. Dad's dad is Herbert Charles. You don't Have to attach the Jr or 2nd or whatever, it does help with banking issues in the future, though.

Its all in the name of lineage.

Males are the dominant species of the union( by decree) A woman subjugates herself to the man and takes his name.Although there are exceptions these days where women retain their maiden name Still the children of that union mostly take their fathers surname.

All family trees are based on male lineage as their names are a constant and ongoing traceable item. Women dissapear from society once they get married. .
