Most state troopers have video cameras in their vehicles and must have them on at all times during stops. You can always make a complaint with the division commander and they will review the tape. You can also request having the video played at court. The video is evidence, whether it's for the police or the defense.

Even if the trooper did not have the video on, he may get into some form of trouble for breaking policy.

(EX COP HERE) There is no way in this world an officer of the law should ever talk to anyone in such disrespect-some seem to think because they wear a badge they are above the law. They also seem to think if you are a teenager that it gives them the right to act like mr/ms a$$hole. Take your witnesses with you and should the judge or majistrate ask if you have anything to offer, do so and let the courts know what took place with the cop. Not all judges will side with you, however there really are alot of fair judges out there. You can also go to the "Internal Affairs" office of the PD and make a formal written statement of complaint towards this officer. If you do this (do it, please) then after you have written the complaint(have your witnesses do this too) , the person you give this complaint to have them initial it, date , and approximate time on it,& make a copy for you BEFORE YOU LEAVE the PD. This way you can do a follow up on this cop and the PD cannot say there has NEVER been any formal complaints on this person. I would go and make this complaint before you GO TO COURT and if you have the oppourtunity to let the judhge/magistrate know a complaint has been made.

The chances are pretty small on getting off on this one. The state trooper's word is going to count for a lot, and might even be taken into consideration more than your words and the voice of your two witnesses. If your witnesses were friends or family of yours that were in the car with you, then more than likely you might not want to even waste the court's time with them at all.

Let me just add this in here really quick, which I'm sure its going to totally throw me out of the running for best answer...haha...You do have a right to feel upset or mad about the way the trooper treated you and spoke to you on the side of the road. What you have to understand is that what you did was very dangerous to yourself and anyone else that was on the road at the time. Even him. To be in the position that he is in, you have to have a lot of care and commitment for your community.

So when a man in his position sees someone being reckless like you were and putting peoples' safety on the line, then they tend to get a little worried about the public and worked up.

Think of it like this. You and your kids are out in your lawn and some knucklehead comes flying down the road right in front of your house. You are going to be pretty pissed yourself if you were able to be within ten feet of the guy. That goes the same with the troopers and most cops. They care about the citizens they serve and they don't want someone having fun to have a chance at hurting them. So he probably got worried and worked up. He probably should have calmed down a little before approaching you, but didn't.

Just trying to give you a little insight as to why the trooper might have been like that with you. They are not out of line, and he would have done that to someone else if he would have seen them put your life in jeopardy that way.

Good luck with the fines and slow down, man....lol

yes i think you deserve the ticket, but as a citizen you have the right to request his/her superior to come to the scene before anything happened such as the fine/ticket. They have to come out if requested. But I agree with the other post that they are supposed to have cameras in the car, but they wouldn't have heard what he/she said.
Good Luck

You can expect to get your you know what kicked,
you broke the law, if his language offended you then
make a complaint, but I am sure that he must have
been having a day in which he deals with this kind
of trouble all day, expect him to be annoyed................

Their job is complicated and annoying, especially
with a public hellbent on complaining about everything
out there..................................................................
