I tried filing using HR Block online program. I kept getting script errors when I sent the completed return. I gave up and filed with a site I got from the IRS website.successfully. A week later I randomly get an email from HRB saying it went through. So basically it went through twice. What's gonna happen to me now??

Nothing is going to happen to you. Once they see the double, they'll examine both and see they are the same, then toss one out. You don't need to worry about it.

To get rid of those errors try this:

Open Internet Explorer, click on Tools at the top, click Internet Options.

In the window that comes up click on the Advanced tab at the top, and check BOTH of the boxes that say "Disable Script Debugging", and also check the box that says "Display a Notification about every script error".

Now click OK, and close Internet Explorer and reopen it. Try the site you got the error on and it should not give an error.

I'm not sure the HRB return was accepted. It seems to me that your second attempt was successful and HRB didn't go through.

What acknowledgement did you receive first? That's the one that got filed. If your return was actually submitted twice, one of them would send you a reject notice.

With no reject notice, you only filed once.

If you want to, you can call the IRS and explain the situation. My guess is that they're going to accept whatever return they got first and reject anything after that because the social security numbers match.

HRB is reporting to you an accepted return based on communication from the IRS. I'm guessing that's the one you'll get. You can call them and get progress reports.

I don't know their 800 number off hand, but I'm sure it's at their web site.

Don't be afraid. The men in black are not coming after you!
