Bad Buddhist, you are correct to some level. However, 'religious nuts' are those who believe anything they read in their books and believe them without question. Hence, if you were to not take things as literal, then you would not fall into the category of nuts. I stand by my word, but those appreciate your honesty.

Common descent has been proved since the genome was recently unscrambled, there is no argument to be had. The Bible story is a myth, accept it and get over it, humans share genes not only with banana's but also with bacteria.

Just as an fyi, you are yourself stooping to a fundamentalist view when you take the position all religious people are against evolution.

That position may fit your bias (that all religious people are 'nuts'), but I just wanted to point out the fact that you are no better than the people you criticize.

Because they are both primates. Or because they both have hands and feet, and walk on feet. Or, because monkeys resemble human beings. Or, because it is a plan to deceive or to raise an issue for a never ending discussion. Who knows.

Look at all of the strange creatures we know about. Platapus, shrimp, all the creatures on this earth. One of the has to look at least similar to us. Keep in mind there are many phisical differences between and kind of primate and us.
