I currently have my meters checked and pay by direct debit,but if i were to have card meters installed,which you top up yourself,would i be paying more for my Gas and electric? Ive heard some people say they think they do, but i need to know if this is true.Im with Powergen.

Yes u would pay more for having a meter tht you top up yourself.You get charged a daily rate for havin a meter.Ive had both and you do pay more for the meter my advice is to stick with direct debit

i think it all depends on how big your family is,obviously then you would use more gas & electric,in my house theres 6 of us i pay by DD,iv had a card meter i wasnt any better of,iv found by using energy bulbs throughout the house iv saved quite alot of money on my electric bills,
if your on your own id phone powergen up and ask them if you'd save any money by getting a card meter,im sure you do

If you pay by direct debt, then you save 5%, if you where to pay by meter card it would cost 5% service charge, to pay for meter

yes you pay a standing charge and believe me if anything goes wrong with them it will be at the most awkward time possible ie sunday.. midnight.. or xmas eve!! well thats what happened for me, stay as you are

yes u do but not much installation is free but u don't get anymore huge bills that's the good point good luck!!!!
