Alex,

If you're gonna ask such an intricate question, you'd help us by telling us :

1) In which hemisphere do you live?
2) In what country do you live?
3) Have you googled your home, so's you're able to tell us exactly where you live to be asking this Q? If not, try it at google earth.com.
4) Like so many things in life there are no simple answers to life's questions. However, the replies you can share will help to give you a solid reply.
5) You know, when I'd be out in the war, or later when camping and hunting, I'd look to the majesty of the stars and realize how insignificant I was.

I wish you good luck in your search.

Well, if all these people want to get technical you could say there are as many at night as there are during the day, they are all still there, yet the sun's light prevents us from seeing them. However, living in the city under a great veil of light pollution, on a good night we can visually ascertain about twenty to forty stars.
